Excel Basics to learn

Hi - i'm new to excel and was wondering if anyone could tell me what i should be getting started with learning wise ?

I'm not asking for tuition or anything, just some pointer's in the right direction and i can go off and learn them for now...

At the moment i don't have any specific use's for the program - i want to learn it to help with work options.

cheers!

Having Excel with no reason to use it is like having a megaphone and nothing to say.
Think of something you'd want to do (budget vs actual for various categories, a list of categorized items with subtotals, anything) and we'll try to coach you through the learning process.

Re: Excel Basics to learn

hey ron - sorry it's so vague! i can understand how it seem's a bit of a silly question....

Basically - the main function's of excel in the workplace - and the thing's required to learn those

I guess that's what my question is trying to ask, but if this is still too vague (and it may well be) don't worry

If it help's i'm probably going to be using it within a bog standard office role...

cheers

Re: Excel Basics to learn

you could use it to track production (or any project) progress against plan/budget

create a work schedule or use it for some form of inventory control

just a few more suggestions
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you
