    Formula help!

    Hello,

Would really appreciate any help with this.

I have Worksheet X and Worksheet Y. X has 2 columns of data, as does Y. The first columns in each worksheet are identical, but have different data in the second columns.

The formula needs to produce something like this:

If WorksheetX!A1 is found in WorksheetY!A:A, then show me the value from WorksheetY!B:B which is next to the value found in A:A.

    Worksheet X ¦ Worksheet Y
    Column A - Column B - Column C - ¦ - Column A - Column B
    Bob - 12354 - (Formula shows ZYXWV) ¦ - Steve - ABCDE
    Steve - 98765 - (Formula shows ABCDE) ¦ - Bob - ZYXWV

    Best regards,

    Dan

    Re: Formula help!

    Try this
    =LOOKUP(WorksheetX!A1,WorksheetY!A:A,WorksheetY!B:B)

    Re: Formula help!

You can do that with VLOOKUP, but you need to change your title first to something that describes your problem better (see Forum Rules), and then I'll get back to you.

    Hope this helps.
