    Width Charts

    Howdy

This may sound random and it might not even be possible but if anyone'll know it's you guys

I need a chart that shows data by width depending on the figures

For example, if I have 1 person who has had 10 days of sickness in a row I want a tall thin column showing 10 whereas if I have someone who's had 10 days of sickness but in 3 separate periods (i.e. 3days then 4days then 3days) I want a shorter, fatter looking column to show the same number of days but spread out over a longer period

Is this actually possible or have I imagined something Excel cannot do

Please help put me out of my misery...

    Thanks

    Dan

    Re: Width Charts

    Hi Dan..

You can give weightage (percentage) to this... if a person is sick continuously 10 days in a row would be 100% (10/10).. but if a person has take leaves in gaps, it would be 80% or something lower... then you can easily plot this on chart...where 100% would always be taller than 80% .. thanks.

    Re: Width Charts

Width charts are not built-in but you can fake them.

But you might be better off with a normal cluster column chart with Overlap set to 100.
The width of a column represents 1 sick event. The height represents the number of days.
