Pivot table only sums the first group of records

Problem making Pivot table behave.

In Excel 2003 when I created a small test pivot of 5 fields I could make a separate pivot to a second sheet and by selecting the toggle the table set beside my page field entries I could have automated summing all column and row just the page field.

I could not repeat my success using hundreds of lines of data. The table would cease to enter row totals from further down the list

I perhaps do not want to divulge my full list?
