    Update Spreadsheets

Can i update workbook2 from certain cells in workbook1 automatically each time workbook1 is open and used?

I have a workbook that is used for quotations (the quotation workbook is used to raise a quote and then saved under the companys name each time), i want to create a new workbook to have a log of each quotation as it is raised on a new line in workbook2. Can this be done? not sure if i have made this very clear!

    hello
if i understand it correctly, yes you can try paste link.( i'll just answer your question if it can "update")
    or
    =VLOOKUP(A1,'[the name of the Other Workbook.xls]Sheet Name'!$A$10,1,FALSE)
if you'll be needing a certain criteria.
    =index(...,match
note***the quotes will also update if you change the first workbook.
so it really depends on the "original workbooks
I think people forget the word "THANK YOU!!!!" Do you still know it???

There is a little star ( ADD REPUTATION ) below those person who helped you. Click it to say your "PRIVATE APPRECIATION TO THEIR EFFORT ON THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS "

    Re: Update Spreadsheets

The original quotes workbook has a front sheet which is a customer record which updates the rest of the workbook which has customer information in it. Then the quotation has several sheets with corrosponding info in them to creat the quotation at the end.

will your code update the Log Workbook on a new row each time the Quotation Workbook is opened and data is entered?

I am a bit of a thicky when it comes to this but where do i put this code in the VBA?

    Sorry to sound so thick!
