    Linking Cells

    Hi,

Is it possible when linking cells from another spreadsheet or workbook to copy down the column and have the cells filled accordingly?

What I mean is if I link one cell to another sheet say =Sheet2!A1, when I copy down in the first sheet it will display =Sheet2!A1, =Sheet2!A1, =Sheet2!A1 all the way down. Is it possible to have it display =Sheet2!A1, =Sheet2!A2, =Sheet2!A2, etc, etc when I copy down or is there some other way of doing this?

    Regards,

    yes

the problem i think is you are using copy paste...

=Sheet2!A1 - use the fill handle to drag down the formula

    Re: Linking Cells

The fill handle works when I'm linking to another sheet in the same workbook. However, it does not work when I'm linking from another workbook. Is this a limitation of MS Excel 2003? Thanks for the response.

    Attached a sample.

    Re: Linking Cells

    good am. roki4

    ='C:\Documents and Settings\gbabic\My Documents\[ADDENDUM MEETING TABLE.xls]Nov'!$D$5

the problem is the last $D$5

when you put a $ sign it means that the letter or number will not change.

$D -- here D will not change even drag to the right or left

    $5 will also not change

so the solution will be get rid of the $ in number 5

    ='C:\Documents and Settings\gbabic\My Documents\[ADDENDUM MEETING TABLE.xls]Nov'!$D5

    hope i've helped. thanks.
