Question quick way to remove the "+" from engineering stations entered as text?

I have a spreadsheet created by someone else that entered engineering stations as text (1+00, 200+00, etc) in one column. I want to convert those stations to a custom number format so that I can use those stations as numbers in formulas (100, 20000, etc.). I don't want to have to re-type or go through each cell removing the "+" character. I tried to use Fine/Replace, but I don't know what to replace the "+" with.

Any ideas? Is there some sort of ANSI character I can replace the "+" with that results in Find/Replace removing them without leaving a space or something else behind?

Replace it with nothing at all. i.e. don't complete the "replace with" box at all.

You could also consider using the SUBSTITUTE function depending on your needs and contents of sheet.

Russell - your solution worked! I'm a bit embarassed that I didn't think of even trying it out before posting on here.

    Thanks!

No worries - sometimes you can spend hours and miss the obvious. I do often! Got lucky this time.

    Cheers
