    Manufacturing Inventory Control.

Trying to do a 'simple' inventory control spread sheet.

Need to have a spot for, 'In Inventory'. Then need a spot to enter recently received chemical and/or a subtraction as chemical is removed for a production batch.

So I'll have the 'Chemical Name', then 'In Inventory', then a spot to add or subtract as chemical is received or chemical is used up in a production run.

Where can I find how to make a formula for this. I'd like a spot where it is blank, and as I add or subtract, after hitting enter, the spot clears and I can add or subtract again.

Try the attached file and see if it does what you want.
It was written in Excel 2010 but saved as Excel 97-2003 so hopefully it functions properly for you.
Macros will have to be enabled.
    Enter the vendor info
Once inventory is entered as received or used, press a cell in column E to activate the macro

    Re: Manufacturing Inventory Control.

    Hi Norman,
I knew there were nice folks here! I downloaded and opened in OpenOffice Calc, when I enter a number, for example 100 in Order Quantity Received, or Quantity Received, I get an error message saying I can't enter a negative number. Those are the only two cells that will allow me to enter anything. Also, I did as you requested which was enter a value in Rx'd or Used, then pressed a cell in Column E, but I only got the, Can't enter a negative.
    Much Thanks,
    Michaelaw

I'm not sure if this will work in OpenOffice?

I'll open it at work, they have Excel, I uploaded it to Google Docs and let it convert it to a Google format, I could enter numbers without getting the error message, but nothing adjusted. Hey, thanks so much! It looks really good, I'll let you know how it went when I get it on the pc at work.
