Excel 2007 : Help with Find or Lookup

Okay, I have a question. I'm not sure if this is possible or not, but here is what I want to do.

I have a sheet of about 1,000 part numbers (on sheet2).

I want to type in half a part number (on sheet 1) and it to tell me how many (and where if possible) part numbers have that in there.

Example I type in 36-244* (* being my wild card)
it to tell me that there are 4 results (like in the find all).

But my next one might give me 10 results.

I want to use this with a vlookup formula that returns all cost and lead time, etc. with it.

So I want to type on sheet 1 in cell B2 "36-244*"
and it to tell me in C2 that there are 4 matches

In cell B4 it to list the first part number it finds
In cell B5 it to list the second part number it finds
and so on...

Is this possible? If so how? Please let me know if you need more info.
