Excel 2007 : help with calculating a total from a date range and another feedback column

Hi this has prob already been asked but I can't find anything about it. I am wanting to find the total amount of feedback required in a date range for example:

The first column is the date and I want say I want too do the following

Amount of feedback between 01/01/2012 and 07/01/2012

and

Amount of feedback between 08/01/2012 and 20/01/2012

What would the actual formula be? I have tried :
=IF(AND
&
CountIF

Someone Pleaseeeeeeee Help
