Count of Records logged in excel

I have an excel sheet with records and sheet named as 'record'. I will add another sheet called as 'summary'. What i need is count of records that exist in record sheet. What formula should i use. It should take into account of n new records if added in future in record sheet.

Assuming you have a header row in your main sheet, try this:

=COUNTA(record!A:A)-1
