Excel 2007 renames links on a network drive.

    Hi

This is my first post - so please be gentle

I am using Excel 2007 - wondows 7 and windows XP - all with latest service packs.

I have 2 linked files - a master file on a network drive which is linked to a data file on the same network drive - in a sub folder.

I created a link from the master file to a cell in the data file and it works fine. The link looks like this:

    ='\\NR2K0206\GENERAL\PLANT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM\Project reveiew\[Reduce Levels.xlsx]PROJECT TEMPLATE'!$A$1

    - where NR2K0206 is the network drive address.

However after saving both the master file and the data file and then making some changes to the data file - the master did not update. I clicked on the link and it had changed to the following:

    ='C:\Documents and Settings\nln8720\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.Outlook\NR2K0206\GENERAL\PLANT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM\Project reveiew\[Reduce Levels.xlsx]PROJECT TEMPLATE'!$A$1

    - where nln8720 is the local logon username.

It appears to have replaced the network location with the local hard-drive location.

    Any suggestions? Thanks!

Still hoping for a solution to this.
