merged cells must be identically sized?

I have been dragging across cells to duplicate formula and formatting, however, all of a sudden when i try to do this i am getting an error message which reads 'this operation requires merged cells to be identically sized'

I have ensured that all cells are the same size across the area i am trying to duplicate my formulas but the error is still occuring.

    Any ideas please?

This error means the same number of merged cells, not the width. Try unmerging all the cells, make your duplicates, and then reemerge if you have to

they are all three cells wide?
i have been dragging across cells for a whille, it has only now decided they are different sizes but they havent been changed?
Unmerging the cells is going to mess up the spreadsheet. Ive been formatting it for ages

The best way to use mergedCells is not to use them! Try centre across selection instead
    Hope that helps.
