    Budget spreadsheet help

    Hi I'm completely new to Excel and setting up a Budget Spreadsheet. I have everything as I want apart from one thing. I would like to show if my account goes into overdraft the amount of overdraft still available.

    Say cell E5 has the balance cell F5 shows the Overdraft amount say 1500, If E5 goes into minus -123 I would like the overdraft balance to show 1377.

    Is this possible I have been playing with IF formulas but nothing I try works.

    Put the following in cell F5:

    =if(E5<0,1500+E5,1500)
