    It still contains the time value within the cell,

    If I turn this
    2/04/2012 14:11
    2/04/2012 14:31

    Into this

    2/04/2012
    2/04/2012

    Via that method, it still treats the two 2/04/2012 in the pivot table as independent values and doesn't total the figures attributed to them.

    There must be a formula that would change the value, going through 5000 entries individually deleting the time values off the end would be painful.
