Excel text time to mm:as help

Hi guys new on here as you can see.
I have been browsing to try to resolve this to no avail. So here we go, any help much appreciated.

Importing info to excel from another system at work, the format it enters the cell in is text as bellow for example.

5.86

Note the three spaces before the text starts. This value denotes 5.87 mins (system sees 1 min as 100). To get a value that is equivalent to the rest of the calculation that is needed I need this equate in a cell as 05:52 (52 being 87% of 60 secs). Not fussed if I need to put a few columns in and hide but any ideas on the resolution. Starting to bang my head against a walk with it.
