need help creating macro to fill in cells

I have attached an example of how I want things to look. I think creating a macro would be the easiest way to carry this out.

There is a list on the side. I will input into the ID column, and I want it to automatically show up and fill in the plate map on the right side. I have tried using MS Excel help to create a macro with no luck so I want to learn.

I will like to have a Run button to run the macro, and a Clear List button that clears Column B and the 96well plate map simultaneously.
