Question How to hide formula in a cell and protect the cell as well?

    Hi,

I have a sheet where i have some formulas in it. There is a editable range only and rest of the sheet is protected.
I followed below method to hide the formula:
Step 1. Right click-Format Cell- Protection-unlock the locked cell
    Step 2. Right click-Format Cell- Protection-Selected Hidden\
Step 3. Tool bar- Review- Allow user to edit range- define range- protect the sheet

After which cell does not show the formula it contains but its editable now (while clicking on it they value disappears and it turned blank)
I also try to validate the cell by validating it and applying the formula ="" where the users can not change the value but they can delete the same.

Please let me know if there is any other option to hide the formula from users and to protect the cell form editing as well????

Just leave the Locked property of the cell checked.

    Thanks for helping...
but that's too not working... by doing so the cell gets protected but the formula is visible to all.
    Any other way

    Hi,

Where you see the tick box for Lock, you would also see Hidden.

Check the box and then protect your similar to the screenshot. Attachment 149811

If I was able to help – PLEASE DO NOT FORGET to Click the small star icon at the bottom left of my post.

    No.

Check both the box for Locked and Hidden in the cell properties. See the attached.

Then you just protect your sheet as normal.
