Copy formulae in Excel 2010

This is driving me mad as all previous versions work
Today I am on my laptop and I want to copy some cells containing formulae to a new page.
I've checked the help and yes they say copy
then to paste use the paste option values, formatting or formulae
All I get is Paste text no other options.
Has something got set somewhere to stop me copying the formulae Its driving me mad please help
