Pulling data automatically from another worksheet

I developed a document with a pull down menu that uses VLOOKUP commands to pull values for certain metrics for about 7 departments at work. We need to write variance explanations against those metrics.

I am trying to have staff write the metrics on a separate worksheet so management can view all the data I have automated on top and have the variance explanations appear dynamically from the other worksheet.

    Thanks for reading..

It's pulling from column B on the variance tab instead of column C. Having a hard time figuring out how to change it. Please help! Thanks!

I have one more question. If no variance comment is needed, it is showing up as "0". How can i make it blank?

Assume the output always be a text value. so just add T() function.

    =T(Old_formula)

Thanks again. That is perfect. i used vlookup more than match and index. I'm trying to understand what MATCH("zzzzz" means. Can you explain this part? Why is it looking for "zzzz"?
