    Generating Reports Automatically

    Hey!
I am a teacher and I use excel to generate my grades.
Now I have a workbook with about 6 worksheets; one for each subject.
So each worksheet has grades for about 40 students for that one particular subject.

Is it possible to generate individual report cards for the students with grades of all their subjects AUTOMATICALLY?

I have been trying to find a solution for a very long time but just can't figure out a way to work this out..

    Please help me out!!!!

    Thanks..

As is often the case, the problem lies in what you have already done, not what you are trying to do. As a general rule, keep all your source data together, and then separate it for reporting only. I haven't seen your data, but I suggest putting all your data in one table on one sheet. Add a subject column to differentiate the data. Then you will be set to produce the report you want

    Re: Generating Reports Automatically

    Thanks Haseeb...

But i want to generate report cards for the students automatically....
As soon as a student's grades are generated, the program should automatically generate a report card...

Think of it as a Report Card template... I look up for a student and the template should be able to access all the worksheets in that workbook and show me only that student's grades...

    Thanks again...

    Re: Generating Reports Automatically

    Hi,
May be with pivot table report
First assembly the data in one sheeet with a column for subject
Insert a general pivot table with name in the report filter
In options of pivot table > options > display pages of report filter > for name
This will create automatically one sheet report per name
    Hope this help
    Best regards

    Re: Generating Reports Automatically

I re-arranged your data, produced a pivot table and from that extracted data for the student listed in cell B1 of the Report Card worksheet. When you change the name, the grades for that name appear. The green tabs in the workbook are what I have done.
