Convert Sheet so I dont have to double click every cell to edit? please help

I scanned in an excel sheet that added random letters and numbers everywhere, is there a way to convert the sheet so I dont have to double click in every cell to remove the number/letter? that way I could hold control and highlight all of the errors and delete them.

Hi, do you also have a sample of what you are scanning? if you are scanning into excel, and these random numers/letters etc. appear then it is perhaps something to do with the format of the barcodes?
Where i work we scan into excel daily and dont come across this issue.
It could also potentially be the hardware you are using (scanner type & how it is programmed)

If you need to double click then I suspect that the numbers etc are actually images.
    Hope that helps.

Re: Convert Sheet so I dont have to double click every cell to edit? please help

    Hi Roy,
Having looked at his sample, when he states 'Double Click' i believe he means he double clicks the cell so he can modify it. (instead of F2 or clickin in address bar)
After talking via PM he uses a PDF to Excel converter, i believe this may be what causes the issue, as i have seen the PDF file he converts.
Some of the cells are formatted as text (with error icon 'The number in this cell is formatted as text or is proceeded by an apostrophe') and in other cells there are random symbols/letters/numbers inserted, so my only conclusion is the converter being used, and my only suggestion for a quick fix was to remove the seemingly random digits, but i cant do it
