    Formula dilemma!

    Hi all,

I'm usng Excel 2010 and stuck on a formula. I am summarising some data in a spreadsheet. I want to calculate the total rows in a sheet where one column equals "East" but also has a cost of greater than "£0.00" in another column. I tried using countif on both columns but this calculates them all as separate items. I only want it to count it if the criteria for the row matches "East" and "> £0.00". So I don't want it picking the row if the criteria is East but the cost is £0.00, likewise I don't want it picking the row up if the cost is >£0.00 but the other column is West - if that makes any sense whatsoever. I have just tried using SUMPRODUCT but I keep getting en error message back. Please help . . . .!

    Hi
Have you tried using the Countifs function? For example if your data is in the range A1:B5:

    =COUNTIFS(A1:A5,"East",B1:B5,">0")

    Hope this helps.
