linking to another Excel file with conditions

Dear members,
I have a question.
I have two Excel files lets say X and Y. I want to link them.
I want Excel to
look in Y, in column D and find if the cells that contain a number (are not empty).

If YES, copy the corresponding row and paste them in file X.

I want to do it with macros. So whenever you open the file X this the mentioned actions will be performed.

The numbers in column D might often already exist in file Y. What formula do I have to use to replace them (update file X).
