is there a formula for this (when working with 2 tabs)

I have an excel document with 2 tabs..

Is it possible for a value in a box (C4) on tab 2 to be increased by 1 if any box in the corresponding column in tab 1 (C) is filled (note, they are filled with dates).

For example, the column on tab 1 is a list of enrollment dates..
and there is a table on tab 2 that sums up tab 1..
Like
total football participants = [box C4 that i am trying to see if excel can do automatically]
