Excel 2007 : How to change the scope of a defined name

Dear Excel Gurus,

Is there a way to change the scope of a previously defined name? For example, on sheet1 I defined name1 to refer to a range A1:C3. At the time, I set the "scope" of that name to "workbook". But now I want the scope of name1 on sheet1 to only refer to sheet1/ Is there a way to do it other than deleting name1 from the Name Manager and then defining it anew? When I click on "Edit" button in name manager, it lets me change the name (e.g., from name 1 to name 2) and the range to which the name refers, but not the scope of the name.

You are correct. To change the scope you must delete the definition and re-create it with the proper scope.

If you have Jan Karel Pieterse's NameManager addin, that allows you to change a name's scope.
