    Working out Hours worked

    Hi
I am trying to put a spreadsheet together to work out how many hours my staff have worked, So I would like to put start time in cell 1, finish time in cell 2 and the hours worked calculations to appear in cell 3. ie 10:00 start, 16:00 finish = 6 hours worked. Can someone please help with the formula I need to work out the calculation.

    Many Thanks
    Paul

Hi and welcome to the board

if you do not have end times after midnight, endtime-starttime will do. Format as [h]:mm:ss

Re: How to work out hours worked, Please help

Hello thanks for this. It has solved the hrs worked for me. Could you assit with the following.
I want to now deduct the break mins from the total hours worked. ie 7:00 hrs worked 45mins break total 06:25 hrs or 06:15, I also would then like to total the hours worked for the week.
Would you please explian how this is done in an example spreadsheet again if it is possible.

    Kind Regards
    Paul

Like so? However, for break time you have to enter it in hh:mm format for it to work. What I mean is 45 minutes is entered as 0:45. 1h30mins is entered as 1:30. So on and so forth.
