    importing data between excel files

    Hi,

I have a excel file containing data that isn't organised into tables, and I was wondering if it was still possible to import it into another excel file.

So for example, in excel file X sheet 1, I have cell a1, a3 and a4 containing the words 'age', 'height' and 'weight' respectively, and cells b1, b3 and b4 contain relevant data. I was wondering if it was possible to import this data into another excel file, so excel file Y. I tried to do it using a query but it failed as the data isn't in tables. I assume in the worst case scenario you can just copy and paste the sheet from file X into file Y and use formulas to extract data between sheets in file X but I need a simpler solution. Is this possible to do using a macro, for example?

    Kind Regards,

Have you tried the VLOOKUP function? If copy/pasting is an option, using that would be best, unless the data in "Book X" changes.
