Subtotal command help needed for Excel

3. Using the Subtotal command
a. total sales by month and then
b. average annual product sales (by deselecting the Replace Current Subtotals).
4. Format the worksheet to highlight the monthly totals using consistent formatting among the totals

I can not figure this out. I tried it but I did it wrong. Can anyone help me?
