Updating Word Documents from Excel

Hi

I have a word document which relate to a million charts / tables information from an excel document.

I have previosuly asked about linking the charts in the word document from the excel document ans was advised to - copy and paste link.

My assumption was that when the word document opens that it will update the charts and tables to the information from excel (this is continuly changing)

however when i open the word document they have not updated.

I have tried saving and closing both programs and opening this up again to see if this has refreshed -

Can anyone help me?

Hi

There are two programs.
one is source (from where you copy) and that will be changed manually.

2nd is target where you paste link. this will be automaticaly updated when you change the source.

Just to be clear - your title and the other thread say you are using word, but the bulk of your text here says work(s)? Is that just a typo?

What happens if you right click one of the charts? Does the context menu include the option to "update link"? Are your links showing up in the Edit->Links dialog?

yes it has just been a typo - I will amend the original text now!!
