Highlight group of rows with same value

I have the following values in column A. I would like to automatically highlight all of the 1's one color, all of the 2's another color, etc. They don't need to be the unique colors, I just want to be able to quickly visually group some rows together, just like the banded rows function for tables. So 1's could be white, 2's could be gray, 3's could be white, 4's could be gray. Is this possible? Using Excel 2010.

    conditional formatting.

you can find it on the home tab.

from your example above, you can go to highlight cell rules, then cell equal too, followed by a color.

let me know if that helps

That's not quite it. See the image below. I want to automatically highlight groups of ID's that are equal. You can assume that the column is sorted. Does this help explain any better?
