need to eliminate blank lines in VLOOKUP results

    Hi,
I am using VLOOKUP to return 2 different sets of results from the same range. This produces blank lines in the 1st set when the criteria is met for the 2nd set and vice versa. I would like each set of results to not have blank lines.

I have attached a sheet. The Summary Sheet has the results and the Cards sheet has the data. If there is a better way to return the results please feel free to suggest.

    Card.xlsx

    Thanks in advance

so you want it to skip 'control' numbers if the criteria is not met in that table?

I did something a little different here that i think gets to what you are trying to do, i added a autocalculating helper field to the start of the 'Card' data to create a new unique value to do the look up on, that is unique based on weather it is sold or relocated. then did the lookup based on this. it allows you to keep your control number, but makes yoru summary look cleaner. i also wraped all formulas in an IFERROR statement to remove the cluttered look.

Interesting solution.... thanks! Not sure this will work exactly but looks like it will. I may be BACK later if I need help with any other issues after implementing it.
