Need Help with a unique count function

Hi EXCEL-lent people,

I need help creating a count function that can automatically count how many events happen in the AM and the PM. I have to automatically count the total number of events that happen every morning and afternoon, but I can't figure out a good way to use excel's built in count function to do this. I've attached an excel sheet w/an example of what I'm talking about. Any help would be super appreciated. Excel count example.xlsExcel count example.xls
