    Conditional Formatting help

    Hi,
I want to color the numbers in a cell based on three formulas

    =($L$2/$M$2)>0 (green)
    =($L$2/$M$2)>1.2 (orange)
    =($L$2/$M$2)>1.5 (red)

    The cell is M2

I put these in order not to stop and it does not work. I have tried different logic by flipping it and telling it to stop and still dpes not work.

    This should be incredible basic

i am using Excel 2010. using Use formula to determine which cells to format

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Re: Conditional Formatting help

OK i see the problem- conditional formatting formula does not copy like the cell. I am not using absolute references in the conditional formula

    any help appreciated

    Re: Conditional Formatting help

Works fine for me. See attachment. If still having problems then upload a dummy workbook.

    Re: Conditional Formatting help

Yes i see it works now on mine (see second post)

Question- assume you have M2-M100, it appears you have to manually change each formula for conditioning, i have tried the format painter and relative references- any luck there?

    Re: Conditional Formatting help

Glad you got it figured out. You have to be careful with absolute references.
