    worksheet structure/design/build help...

    Watcha peeps,

    OK, this is EXTREMLey vague.Apologies

I have an interview for a job, and in the first part of the interview the guy interviewing me started talking about a spreadsheet that they have that nobody in the office understands Not sure who wrote it or anything about it, but i am assuming its some kind of database (its a Stationary company for what its worth). Anyway, i used to use Excel all the time, but have not worked for a couple of years and have got a bit rusty.So......I have got to the next round of interveiws, and this will include looking at this spreadsheet and trying to figure it out

Anyone got any suggestions, tips or tricks to try and work out whats what. I think maybe trying to find database ranges or lookup tables kinda thing.

Sorry. Told you it was vague

    ~Any help appreciated.

    Pete

    Re: Job interview

If you have a question about a specific formula or reference, post the formula here and we'll take a look.

Use F1 and read the help files on any functions in the formula(s) you do not readily understand.

If you see a reference in a formula that does not appear in the help files, press CTRL+F3 and look in the named ranges to see if that's all that is.

    other things you could do

if you press the control button at the same time as the button on the left of the 1 it will show all formulea. you could also left click on the tab to see if there are any hidden tabs. you could also look for macros in the developer tab > VBA button

    good luck with the interview.

If you have 10 or more posts, expect your post to be locked, so you can start a new thread with an appropriate title.
