how to convert calendars into a chart??

Instead of paying hundreds of dollars for some child custody program, i figured I'd try to make my own excel templates. This might not be possible, but who knows!

I am having trouble of how to convert calendar usage into a chart.

For instance... I made a calendar for February; i would fill a block PINK for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd to display that mother has the kids those days. And fill other blocks into blue for 4th, 5th, 6th for father.

What i am trying to do here is to make a visual pie chart to show how many days mother/father had so far along with the blocks that were already filled with pink/blue colors.

Hopefully someone can understand what i'm trying to do here! Thanks!

I attached a sample. Its a layout of the entire year calendar.

My goal is to be able to mark specific blocks that the Mother/Father had those days.

I would like a 3D pie chart on the right, to display the measurement of how much Mother/Father had the kids via color blocks (pink and blue).

It would help me alot to keep an update visual documents in-case this custody gets dragged into court.

If this is possible, please help me! I appreciate it!
(sorry i didnt post this thread into the newbie section, i overlooked that)

This example may work for you...it has some VBA coding in it and was done in Excel 2003; you can certainly enhance it in 2010. If you click the dates they should cycle through the colors (no color, blue, pink). I may play with this again at home later, but lunch is over and I'm out of time. Thanks!

Re: how to convert calendars into a chart??

    Will do!

I actually thought of something else, im not sure if its possible.

While i was putting actual data in, it came to my mind... what about HALF/HALF. Instead of whole color blocks. Because some days will be halves.

Is this possible to make the color block half blue/half pink and make the days counter into 14.5?

If not, thats fine! Just wondering

Well...to my knowledge you can't equally split colors in a cell (you can use two colors and a gradient, though), but how about this?
