Question Removing 1 Item from the Data Table Below a Chart

    Hi

I tried searching and I can't anything related to this topic. Hope you can help.

In a line graph, I have three series--one is the goal, one is 2012 data, and one is 2011 data in grey.

I have added data labels to the 2012 line so that's taken care of. I only want to include 2011 data in the data table below the chart. How can I do that? If I add the data table, I have all three series and I can't remove any one of them manually.

    Thank you!!

Using Excel 2010 and Windows XP

    Hello,

    you'll have to fake it.

Create a copy of the data set below the chart (the chart must be in a worksheet, not on a chart sheet)

Arrange the data set below the chart like you want to show it. Resize the chart area to include the cells below it, set the chart background to no fill and resize the plot area so it does not overlap the cells.

If you need help with this, post a sample file.

    cheers,

    Thanks teylyn

I copied and paste as image of the data set and then added the grey line to the left.

    Thanks!
