Lightbulb Help on creating a top 5 list in a graph, dynaically

    Hello all,

I have tried scanning for forums for awhile trying to find an answer to my question, however I am struggling to find the relevant topic. Apologies for any repost in advance.

Its a two stage question which I have; the first of which is whether the solution is possible in Excel, secondly how I can go about this.

I have a data validation list which picks out individual months (Jan, Feb,Mar..), and I want to be able to select a month which then feeds into a top 5 cancellation reasons in a graph. I dont need all reasons, just top 5, and my validation list goes back around 15 months. I have my spreadsheet set up in a data tab and pivot tab, I just need a solution as to how I can select just the top 5 reasons for whichever month I pick out; is something like this even possible in Excel? Or would I have to make do with selecting all reasons from a pivot table.

If this is even possible, I would like to hear suggestions of how this may be done?

Appreciate your time in advance, thankyou.
