Hi guys,
I have a range of data in a column going downwards and beside each data point, the corrosponding month; perfect for pivot tables. The months are really like 01-01-2012 and then formatted using american English "Jan-12". That's the way I want to see the months in the pivot tables as well.
Now my conondrum is that when I have made a pivot table in a seperate pane, updating the data pane with a new data point and the next month results in the pivot table showing the new entry as "01-01-2012" and not "Jan-12" - even though I previously saw to it that the pivot table properties where set to use american English months like "Jan-12". Thus, it seems that in updating the pivot table the new month entry does not get the same formatting properties as the prior months (previous months are OK - probably because I manually had to rectify those months earlier on as well ;-)).
Can anyone help me in this regard?
Also, I'd like there to be a background colour in the pivot table so I have put a background colour throughout the entire line behind the months, however, when updating the pivot table, the new month entry kind of erases the fill format/background colour, and theres no fill in the cell behind the new entry, so I have to put that in afterwards manually... kind of like the above problem - likely related?
Please help me :-)
Best regards,
ncik
