    Importing Data

    Hello,

I'm new to this forum so if this has been covered somewhere please for give me.

I have a software program that I use and one of its options is to import the crucial
data from it into Excel. The issue once it's imported is that one of the cells contains
both alpha and numeric characters. Is there some kind of function, filter or other
command that would allow me to remove all the alpha characters from this column
    while leaving the numeric characters?

    Thanks for any help,

    Re: Importing Data

How are the cells arranged? Is the format of alpha and numbers consistent in presentation? An example with sample data would help to determine how to help you. There is no built in function in Excel. You will either need to manipulate with formulas or VBA.

    Re: Importing Data

following on from the above answer, perhaps you could look at how the data is imported in the 1st place and try to have it import in the column format that you need? And as far as the data already imported, text-to-column conversion may help, if, as mentioned, there is consistancy in the data/
