Hi Guys,

I have just taken the plunge and bought a new computer and installed (at vast expense) Excel 2010. I have been working on spreadsheets and using macros for years and have developed them using Excel 1997 through until 2003 with no problems at all.

When I transfer my existing .xls files to the new machine and try to open the Excel files I get the following message. “ ‘Data.xls’ cannot be accessed. The file maybe corrupted, located on a server that is not responding. or read-only”

To my knowledge the files are all OK, located on the computer in question and are not read only.

Can anyone help me to get over this hurdle as it’s majorly frustrating!
