Copy Page Setup Settings From One Workbook To Another

I generate several reports, all saved as seperate files, with the same page settings (margins, headers, footers, etc.). Is there any way to copy these page settings from one file to another so that I don't have to enter the settings seperately for each file?

Please note that I am unfamiliar with macros, so they are not an option. Thank you for your help!

The only way you can do this is by macros. However, I have put all the code into an add-in to make it easy. Download and install it from the link below, and once installed go to Ultimate > Print > Copy Print Settings and click the Copy Settings to Different Workbook button. This will dump all the selected print settings to memory, then just follow the on-screen prompts to copy them to another open workbook.

    Hi chave982

If you're using this through Excel 2007 then this is just the way the ribbon works. You'll have to click on the Add-Ins menu item and the Ultimate Add-In list will then appear. I hope to remedy this over the next few months once I get used to incorporating the add-in into the ribbon.

Well this seems to work until I close Excel and open it back up again, like when I rebooted my computer this morning, and then the Add-In menu item is gone. Do I have to open up this program through my program files each time I start Excel?

    Hi chave982

It sounds to me as though you are opening it like a normal file. If this is the case, then it will need opening every time you start Excel. You need to tell Excel that it's an add-in you want to run every time you open Excel.

To do this, you need to go to Customize the Quick Access Toolbar (top of screen toward left), and click on More Commands. then click on Add-Ins from the list on the left. Make sure that the Manage dropdown at the bottom is set to Excel Add-Ins then click on Go. You may recongnise the dialog box that opens next. Just click on Browse, navigate to where Ultimate was saved to when you ran the install program and select Ultimate Add-In.xla. When you get back to Excel there will be a new item on the Ribbon - Add-Ins. Click on this and you will see the Ultimate menu.

Question Re: Copy Page Setup Settings From One Workbook To Another

Hi Just new to Forum and wanted to know how to access the add-in mentioned or macro to do same. I have set up a standard sheet for headers, footers, margins and fit to page print that we want to use for our pricelists which are already created in a number of workbooks. Now I just want to overlay these settings onto all the pages in the old workbooks.

All help greatly appreciated (tried to do macro but have a bug I can't get pasted!!)
