Is this possible? I have used a sum formula to sum up from another workbook, but when I do a countifs statement I get the #VALUE! error!
Thanks in advance!

It works if the linked file is open, but gives the error statement if the linked file is closed
any way for it to work this out without having to have the file open?
Bump, I have seen that you can change a countif or a sumif to like to a closed workbook. But I am finding nothing about the countifs formula linking to a closed workbook.
you could put a fancy (but simple) formula in the workbook you are trying to link to, that would compare the various references you are looking at. Then in your "master" workbook, use a countif (or sum - depending on what formula you use in the linked workbooks) to provide the answer you want. The countifS wont work unless you open all the files.
Hi
You can use SUMPRODUCT function, for what are you looking for.
Hope to helps you.

Fotis.
