    Row Height/ Font Size

I have inherited a workbook in which all of the sheets have their row heights set to 20.25 (27 pixels) and font/size Trebuchet MS 12. However, if I create a new sheet in the same workbook, these settings make everything look larger and I have to set the row heights to 13.5 (18 pixels) with a font/size of Trebuchet MS 8 to get it to look like the other sheets. If I copy one of the original sheets using move/copy, the original settings copy too but not if I copy/paste into the new sheet.

Does anyone know why this is happening? I don't know which version of Excel was used to create the original workbook, but I'm using 2003.

    Thanks.

How are you adding a new sheet? if you right click on the tabs at the bottom then insert new sheet it should start with default settings.

    Re: Row Height/ Font Size

That is how I'm creating the new sheet. I know it sounds unlikely, but although the new sheet does start with the default style setting the font looks larger than on the original sheet. In other words, a font size of 12 on the new sheet looks more like 20 compared to the original sheet which also has a font size of 12, and a similar thing is happening with the row heights. But if I use the sheet tab to copy one of the orignal sheets the new sheet looks identical to the original.

I suspect the original sheet formatting was done with VBA and it's got something to do with pixel size, but I have no idea how to go about replicating what was done.

It sounds like the blank sheet template has been saved over.

Thanks darknation144, I hadn't thought of that, so the real question is: how was the template created with what I suppose you'd call a compressed standard format?

It's just a pointer to some file.

This will probably help you locate the file:
