    Sorting

so i tried to do some sorting but i'm not sure i quite understand it..

i choose the column i wanted and set "sort on" to value and order to ">15000 & < 25000"
i want this to only show the results are between 15000 and 25000 but it does not seem to be working.

for another column i set "sort on" to value and order to "a" what i wanted this to do was to only show data in the column containing the letter "a" but again it's not working could anyone help me out here?
