How come sometimes when you open 2 excel files they open in 2 separate windows and sometimes they open in 1 window. I would rather they open in 2 separate windows so you can compare the data if need be. Thanks.

In Excel Options, in the Advanced section, you can check the option to ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) and then you should always get two instances. Note that this limits your options for copying and pasting.
