    Converting to CSV

    Hello,

I formatted a column containing dates as 2012/01/19 (ccyy/mm/dd), but when I save it as a CSV file, I receive the error message that some formats are not compatible and may be lost. If I save it as a CSV anyway, it converts the date to 1/19/2012.

How do save the file as a CSV and retain the date format I want?

    Thanks.

    Re: Converting to CSV

This is happening because the "date" shown is actually a serial number that is just formatted to show it in date form.

Assuming the date is in A1, use this formula to convert the date. If you can put this on a seperate sheet, when you save the sheet in csv format, only the "date" data will remain in the csv file
