    Confusion with column charts

As it says, I find myself confused when trying to create a column chart.
I have a sheet with many columns, but only want to use five for the chart.
Can this be done, or do I need to create another tab for the chart?

    Ta,
    John.

    Hi John,

You should be able to just select the range (in this case the columns) needed for the chart. Once in the chart wizard there should be an option to display chart in new worksheet or on the same worksheet as your data.

    Hope this helps.

When I select a column, the message "..Data range is too complex to be displayed" appears. That's only with one column.

Right, I may have worked something out, here.
Would I be best advised to create a pivit table, then the column chart from that?

    John.
