cell colour change???

Very simply, i'm working on a worksheet where i'm inputting some figures and want to see how they compare to another set. If they are lower (better) I want them to change either the cell or text to one colour and vice versa if they are worse.

Whats the easiest way to do this?

Use Conditional Formatting

doesnt seem to work as I have excel 2010 and each cell only seems to accept one rule so it either picks up if its less than the number and does nothing if its more or vice versa. Plus I have to set each cell up individually, i have hundred of cells to work at!
