So please bear with me, as I know what I'm needing, but may have trouble describing it.
A quick little background to help with the explanation:
I work in the Automotive industry, for a Tier 1 supplier. Our operations include delivery of parts to the OEM's assembly line. What I'm needing to show is a column/bar chart with the Plant's planned production for the day, the actual production for the day, and ANY downtime or "missed" units produced by day as a deviation from the Plan. As an example:
Assuming the plant produces 1 vehicle per minute:
Planned production = 400
Actual Production = 395
Difference = 5
Downtime = 5 minutes
Visually, if possible, I'd like to have the column chart show the plan on the left, with the second column representing the 5 unit loss, indicated as a mini floating column from 400-395, and then the Plan column on the right from 395-0, etc.
I also need the ability to capture multiple variances in the middle.
I've started with a column chart, and played with plotting the points on a secondary axis, with the secondary axis being represented by a "scatter" chart, but it isn't really producing the desired effect.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
